Fungal Foot Infection

We use our feet a lot and therefore should treat them carefully. Neglect and lack of attention lead to different consequences and fungal infections are not excluded. Fungus grows on the skin of the foot and therefore causes the infection. The affected area then becomes red or black with flaky skin that resembles dandruff in some way. And moreover, fungal infections tend to grow rapidly. It is dermophytes, a certain type of fungi that causes the infection on the feet.

Fungal foot infections are quite frequent: it happens in 10-20% people. They are not considered dangerous but should be treated immediately still. Fungi grow and multiply in wet and dark places and therefore avoid wearing shoes that make you sweat. In general, be careful with your feet; do not allow them to sweat excessively as any small scratch or an opening will give easy way to an infection and fungi will grow immensely  fast. If your skin on the feet gets flaky, excessively dry or patchy it is a good reason to get consult a doctor. The healthcare provider will help to state a diagnosis and prescribe a necessary treatment. But the best thing is prevention therefore follow these recommendations:

Feet should be always kept clean and therefore wash them regularly especially if you have been out. Apply enough soap and scrubs in order to remove all the dirt and dead skin as well. If you have to wear shoes the entire time try to find opportunity to remove them every three hours in order to give feet some air and get rid them of all the excessive moisture. It is also important to keep feet dry therefore wipe them dry and make sure they are well-hydrated. And, finally, abstain from going anywhere barefoot if it is not out in the nature. Swimming pools, changing rooms, offices, etc. are the best places to get infection.

Be very careful with your feet and keep them clean and nice every day. Then you will make sure no fungal infection will be able to affect them!
